These last couple of weeks, Gabe has been putting in a lot of extra work to get better and support his Cowboys Youth Football team. He’s had summer practices, a quarterback camp in San Diego, and even a session with one of the UNLV coaches after Dad was able to call in a favor.
It’s not lost on me that our family is fortunate to have the resources, connections, and time to pour into our kids. Some families in our league don’t have that same cushion. Youth football can be expensive: league dues, uniforms, helmets, pads, and time off work for games and practices all add up quickly.
So I’m asking our newsletter community for a small favor: could you chip in $5 to help a Cowboys player this season?

🚧 Traffic calming projects begin across Las Vegas
The Gist: Las Vegas has begun traffic calming and median improvement projects at 18 locations across the city. The work includes new speed humps, signs, pavement markings, and median curbs designed to manage traffic and discourage unsafe turns. Construction started June 1 and is expected to continue through August, with temporary lane restrictions in affected areas.
Why It Matters: If you've noticed speeding or tricky intersections in your neighborhood, some relief may be on the way. These upgrades are meant to make residential streets safer for drivers, pedestrians, and kids walking to school, though residents near the work zones can also expect temporary lane restrictions over the summer.
