Last week was ‘All About Alina!’ My daughter has been such a superstar this summer, supporting her big brother. Hours of football practice in the heat where she didn’t complain once, and she even jumped into every practice to be the official water girl!
She deserved some one-on-one time with Daddy, and I let her pick anything she wanted to do. As luck would have it, she wanted to go to a concert, and not just any concert. When I took big brother Gabe to his first concert three years ago, Alina was too young to go. Gabe got to see Guns N’ Roses at Allegiant Stadium a few years back, and guess who was playing there again last weekend? We had a blast, and she almost made it through the entire show.

🌮 LA’s favorite blue corn tacos land at Durango
The Gist: Victor Villa has officially brought his popular Los Angeles taqueria, Villa’s Tacos, across the desert, opening its first location outside California on August 15. Located in the Eat Your Heart Out food hall inside Durango Casino & Resort, the new spot takes over the former Fiorella space.
Why It Matters: Villa’s Tacos began at Villa’s grandmother’s Highland Park home before its Los Angeles restaurant earned Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition. Now, southwest Vegas taco lovers can try its signature blue corn tortillas and mesquite-grilled meats without heading anywhere near the Strip.
🍻 CA craft beer taphouse heading to Summerlin
The Gist: Founded in 2016 by twin brothers Greg and Brad Finefrock, this California-born concept is opening its first Nevada location this September in Downtown Summerlin’s Dining Arroyo. The new 5,395-square-foot spot features a 2,434-square-foot dog-friendly patio, 20 HDTVs, 30 rotating regional craft beers on tap, and a scratch-made menu boasting A5 Wagyu burgers and mahi mahi tacos.
Why It Matters: Positioned just steps from Las Vegas Ballpark, it gives Aviators, Knights, and Raiders fans a spacious new local hangout for pre-game drinks and game-day viewing. The blend of scratch-made comfort food, signature cocktail flights, and family-friendly patio space adds a great gathering place right in our backyard.
🍚 A local favorite for Persian food

Hafez Persian Cuisine is a family-owned spot serving grilled beef, chicken and lamb with saffron rice, plus hearty stews, fresh flatbread and crispy rice. The large menu includes plenty of traditional Persian favorites, along with family platters that make it easy to try a little of everything. Save room for the homemade saffron ice cream or warm baklava for dessert.
