Less than two hours from Las Vegas, Always an Adventure in the Desert Color community was the perfect spot for a weekend away. We spent our time paddleboarding on the beautiful lagoon, swimming in the heated pools, relaxing in the hot tubs, and playing pickleball. The Gist: A 4,000-square-foot Community E-Center has broken ground in Las Vegas’ Historic Westside near J Street and Owens Avenue. The space will support youth ages 14–24 with entrepreneurship training, job skills programs, and room for small businesses to grow and operate locally.
Why It Matters: This project could open more doors for young people in the Historic Westside by creating a place to build skills, explore business ideas, and find a stronger path into the workforce. It also gives small businesses a chance to grow within the neighborhood, which can create more opportunity close to home.
