Are you a golfer? I’m NOT… but my jiu-jitsu coach has an amazing daughter who is one of the top five female golfers in the WORLD! We had a “play date” this week with our kids. To say Gabriel was humbled is an understatement. It was his first time swinging a club, and the videos are hilarious.

Luckily, Morne, the owner of Fly-Away Sim Golfing in Henderson was there to help.

Like I said, I don’t golf, but I could get into the sport based on what this place has to offer. $20,000 (per bay) worth of radars and cameras monitor every aspect of swing speed, angle, and posture, and give real-time feedback. Most of what was discussed was way over my head, but my daughter nailed two straight shots, so it must work. 🙂

There are also 500 courses from around the world preloaded into the software, so members can play a full course from the comfort of a climate-controlled building. Thanks, Morne, for hosting us. I can’t say enough good things about what you’ve built!

Chubby Skewers turns dinner into a hands-on experience. You grab raw skewers from the coolers, bring them back to your table, and cook them over charcoal right in front of you.

The selection is wide, from lamb and wagyu to mushrooms and broccoli, and the smoky flavor keeps you reaching for more. Skewers are small, which makes it easy to try a lot. It’s lively, a little crowded at peak hours, and surprisingly fun.

Crush Pad Wine Bar is a favorite for anyone who enjoys good wine and easy conversation. The wine list is thoughtful, with options that feel familiar and others that invite you to try something new. The charcuterie boards pair well and are made to share.

What really stands out is the staff and owners, who are welcoming, knowledgeable, and make every visit feel relaxed and personal.

The Gist: Red Rock Casino has finished a full renovation of its Regal Red Rock Theatre in Summerlin. The updates include luxury recliner seating, upgraded sound and projection, and premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, and RPX. The theater also added a full service bar and a larger lounge so guests can relax before or after movies.

Why It Matters: The upgrades give Summerlin residents a more comfortable, modern movie night close to home. Feels like a solid glow up for a longtime local favorite.
