Summerlin is a unique neighborhood… with a unique vibe. Our family has loved getting to know the local hotspots since moving into town. My daughter, as you can see below, loves the parks. That being said, we do find ourselves driving out to Spring Valley, Centennial Hills, and other parts of Western Las Vegas to play, eat, and have fun.

The restaurants at the newly opened Durango are awesome. We love the hiking trails around Red Rock. And the unique, non-corporate shops between the strip and Summerlin “proper” are where we’ve made some cool finds.

We are thinking about expanding the newsletter to cover more territory on the westside of town. Of course, nothing on the strip… who wants to drive down there… but stuff along the 215 loop.

Maybe we will rebrand to WestLasVegas HQ or something like that.

Have a strong opinion one way or the other? Let us know!

Have a great name for the newsletter if we rebrand? Send us your suggestions, and if we go with your idea I’ll get you a $100 gift certificate to a local restaurant!

Should we cover more of the west side of Vegas?

🍝 Date Night, Handled

10940 Rosemary Park Dr, Las Vegas

Some places just know how to make a night feel special, and Maggiano’s Little Italy does that with ease. The room feels warm and relaxed, the service is attentive, and the food arrives in generous portions meant for sharing.

Guests keep coming back for comforting classics like chicken parm, rich pastas, and desserts worth saving room for. A reliable choice for celebrations, date nights, or when you want dinner to feel like an occasion.

🎉 Game Night Chaos

4437 W Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas

It’s A Blast! puts a fun spin on the escape room idea and is perfect for families and groups. Instead of hunting for clues, everyone plays fast paced games at the same time, so no one is left out. Each room brings a new challenge that requires teamwork, communication, and quick thinking.

It feels a bit like real life party games, but indoors and interactive. Guests love that teens and adults can all jump in together. If you want something different, energetic, and easy to enjoy as a group, this one is worth checking out.

🚧 Summerlin Parkway trail underway

The Gist: Construction near Anasazi Drive is part of the new $26 million Summerlin Parkway Trail. The 3.5 mile path will run alongside Summerlin Parkway, connecting Anasazi Drive to Rampart Boulevard and linking with other regional trails. Starting next month, Crestdale Lane will close for about three months so crews can build a lighted pedestrian tunnel under the road.

Why It Matters: The project adds safer walking and biking connections for Summerlin residents. It is one of those projects that will feel worth it once the cones are gone.

🌤️ Mild December weather holds on

The Gist: Warm and dry weather continues across Southern Nevada, with daytime highs staying 10 to 15 degrees above average. Las Vegas is expected to reach around 70 degrees with mostly sunny skies, near record levels. Temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s are likely through the weekend. A pattern change could arrive next week, with rain chances returning around Christmas.

Why It Matters: The stretch of mild weather makes holiday plans easier, with a small chance of rain just in time for Christmas week. Feels like classic Las Vegas winter showing off a little longer.
